Skill Studio is a hands-on opportunity for you to gain practical skills without making a long-term commitment. Through these 2 hour drop-in sessions you will have the chance to learn and practice skills like :
- Interview Skills
- Presentation Skills
- Design Skills
- Programming Skills
- Software Usage Skills
How does it work?
Guided by University Mentors, and supported by Industry Experts, you’ll join us on Zoom to build professional and technical skills through hands-on tutorials.
Who Can Participate?
Students eligible to participate in HighTechU programs must satisfy all of the following criteria:
☑️ Be a high-school student, or home-learner, in Grade 9-12 living & studying in British Columbia, Canada.
☑️ Have an interest in learning through/about technology.
☑️ Be committed to cultivating a positive, safe, & inclusive learning environment for everyone in accordance with our Core Values.

- $10 per tutorial
Financial Support is available through the Skills Scholars Program.

When do Tutorials take Place?
Skill Studio Tutorials take place on the second Wednesday of every month.
Tutorials take place from 6:00-8:00pm (PT) on select Wednesday’s, but sessions are drop-in so arrive and leave whenever you like!
Where do Tutorials happen?
Due to current restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, all Studio Session tutorials will be virtual, hosted in real-time on Zoom and using a collection of digital tools.
How do I Register to attend?
Register for each of the Skill Studio tutorials through the link found on the calendar event listing.
Prior to attending the program, all participants must have completed a Participant Information Form. Only one form is required per season.
